The new Police Substation on the City of San Jose's south side
will be an essential facility providing public safety-related services
to the San Jose community. The project will include the development
of one or more buildings totaling up to 120,000 square feet, including
a main police substation building with a staff courtyard, a vehicle
maintenance building, and 1,500 surface and basement-level parking
spaces. The project is registered under the LEED for New Construction,
with a goal of achieving a LEED Silver rating. Its design incorporates
many green features including a vegetated roof, bioswales in the
parking lot ,and the integration of stormwater retention areas into
the site landscape vision.
